“An image-led layout with oversized photographs, one typeface family and project pages that read like short essays.”
01
The problem
Meridian Studio’s architecture is hushed and precise, but its website was loud: a carousel, a crowded menu and thumbnails too small to judge the work. Enquiries came mostly from referrals, and prospects said the site felt less considered than the buildings. The partners wanted the website to feel like walking into one of their rooms.
02
The approach
We studied twenty portfolios of architects the partners admired and found a pattern: the best ones trust photography and let silence do the talking. I mapped the projects into a simple hierarchy, wrote the page structure in plain words, then designed at full scale so every image could breathe.
03
The solution
An image-led layout with oversized photographs, one typeface family and project pages that read like short essays. It is built in Webflow so the team can add work themselves, with image sizes and fonts tuned for speed. Captions are short and honest, written together with the partners.
